I've recently acquired a new boss, and I have to say I am less than impressed. And he looks like Bert from Bert and Ernie, but with an amusingly shaped goatee beard. Ho hum, I'm sure it'll all work out for the best.

More pie
@ 25/10/2005 – 15:57:25
So, I had a few days off pie as I felt like a right fat bastard after realising about all the pie scoffing the other week. But, I just can't keep away from it, so here's the latest pie news
Sunday - Steak and kidney pie at Smithills. It really was very very tasty, although I did nearly end up wearing it - the poor waitress had a bit of a nightmare!
Monday - Chicken and sweetcorn pie - this was another sainbury's one, so the comments fom alst time apply. Although last time I very slightly overcooked it, so thought I'd give it a bit less this time and this time I undercooked it! Oh well, that's just an excuse to eat it again to see if I can get it right next time...

Pie Scoffing!
@ 16/10/2005 – 22:22:30
I always knew I was a lardy pie scoffer, but I've just realised I've had pie every day for the last 6 days! That's shocked even me! Anyway, here's a quick pie review...
Tuesday - Greenhalgh's Butter Pie for lunch - butter pie is a Preston speciality and the filling in mostly potato and onion cooked with lots of butter. It's really tasty and suitable for vegetarians too. The Greenaulgh's version is ok, but not as good as some I've had.
Wednesday - Greggs chicken pasty - slightly dissappointing amount of chicken, and was a bit cold by the time I ate it. Probably the worst pie of the week!
Thursday - steak and kidney and Guiness pie - This was in a pub in Belfast. I can't remember the name of it sadly, because this wins the pie of the week contest. Big juicy chunks of meat and lovely yummy gravy. The chips were pretty damn good too!
Friday - Cheese and onion pie at the Vine - This pub is close to work and a regular haunt of sales on a Friday lunchtime. Very cheesy!
Saturday - chicken and mushroom pie - Greenhalgh's again. Mark was jealous of my butter pie on Tuesday and insisted that next time I walked past I get him one, so it seemed rude not to buy myself a pie-y treat too! Much better than the Greggs chicken pasty for a lunchtime snack. At least is had some chicken in it, with the added bonus of mushrooms too!
Sunday - chicken and sweetcorn pie - This was a large pie from Sainsburys that we had for tea tonight. Very yummy, lots of chicken, some sweetcorn. The pasty was a bit dry though. And even better for being served with gin
